प्रार्थना
Shri S.K.Bhatnagar was born in 1937 and brought up at Beawar, Rajasthan. After post-graduation in Botany from Ajmer, he dabbled in agricultural aesearch for a couple of years and then became a lecturer for a short period. He started his career as a civil servant in the Rajasthan Administrative Service. He joined the Indian Revenue Service in 1961 and retired in 1999 as the President of the Customs Tribunal.
Shri Bhatnagar's interests lie in the field of biology, literature and mythology. Under the pen name of Santosh Ratan, he prefers to write on scientific topics in poetic format instead of prose. He likes to draw illustrations from Indian mythology and that too in both English and Hindi. He has published 6 books so far — two in English and four bilingually, including poems on the natural wonders of the world. अर्चना के पुष्प मेरे चारू चरणों में समर्पित
वन्दना इस रूप में कर रहा हूं आज अर्पित
सत्यम शिवम सुन्दरम सृष्टि
कोरी कवि कल्पना है या सही ?
वैज्ञानिक खोज से भी क्या
परिणाम निकलता है यही ?
भयंकर और प्रलयंकर भी तो
शंकर के ही परियाय हैं
विधाता कर्ता भर्ता हर्ता
सृष्टि के ही तो उपनाम हैं !
गाथाएं कथाएं अनेकों युगों
युगों से हैं यों तो प्रचलित
किन्तु कितनी सत्य अनुभव
कितनी कल्पना से हैं प्रेरित ?
परन्तु एक अटल अकाट्य
सत्य तो है ये सर्वविदित
कि ये स्वयंभू शाश्वत बहुरूपमयी
सृष्टि ऋतंभरा आश्चर्यमयी
है अत्यंत अदभुत अनोखी
अति अति अचरज भरी
गवेषणा इसकी ही वैज्ञानिक
आधार पर करते हुए
छन्दोबद्ध रूप में है
प्रस्तुत लघु प्रयास यही
हे गणेष ! हे सरस्वती ! कृपा करो
इतनी तो आप अभी
श्रद्धांजली ये कर स्वीकार
वर दो ये आज आप
ज्ञान पायें , आनन्द पायें
पढ़कर इसे सदा जन सभी ।।
